This beautiful hat was made in Austria in the late 1930's. When you lift the lining, there is a paper label stuck to the felt which confirms the style name and where it was made.
Made from inky black fur felt, it has a close fitting crown and sweeping brim which is turned up at the back on both ends to give it that iconic shape of the late 1930's.
Labelled "Dormer Hat", it has a broad seamed brim, and matching seams across the left side of the crown, and is trimmed with a little bow of felt in the front.
