This is a beautiful example of an original 1940s's fair isle.
Knitted in pure wool it has a warm brown base with an intricate fair isle design in duck egg blue, green, yellow, rust and brown. The knitting on this piece is divine.

Condition
Good vintage. There are a number of mends in the body of the knit. Most are only seen on close inspection but there is a large darn on the back and a smaller one, both of which are visible - see photos
