A lovely piece of underwear from the 1920s or 1930s.
Made from crepe in a pretty cream shade, it is a simple design which was most likely home sewn, to a high standard. Ribbon straps and fairly shapeless bodice, as was the fashion with these pieces, the knicker part has splits right to the waist! Lace trim and a little bit of embroidery finish it off perfectly. Someone has attempted to insert some elastic at the underarm section, I'm guessing to make it smaller, and the elastic has lost its elasticity.
The slip has been pressed and ready to wear and is in very good condition. Only minor issue to note; - there is a pinhead hole in the centre front
It is shown on a 33" bust and is much too large for it. Best suited for up to a 40" bust.
Flat bust 20"
Flat waist 21"
Flat hip 22"
Length 30" from the top of the fabric to the hem, 37" from the top of the strap to the hem
