This beautiful piece was handmade in the 1940's. The seamstress has done a great job of maximising the use of the limited amount of novelty print fabric she had and has paired it with black cotton to create this novelty print colour block piece.
A close fitting bodice with a metal front zip which extends to 4" below the waist, it has neat little sleeves, a full length skirt and a back tie belt.
Originally designed to be worn in the house only, this would make a great summer maxi-dress.

Condition
Very good with some minor points to note;
- there are some small marks on the back bodice. They appear to be colour transfer which was most likely done when the feed sack fabric was printed
- some very faint pale marks on the black belt and the sleeves - this is really minor
