Made in the 1940's from crisp cotton it is an over the head, open back design featuring wide shoulder straps and a narrow waist tie. Made by Hawkins of Preston it has a very, very faded CC41 label - which was a lot less faded before I washed it!
It has a fabulously vibrant abstract print in green, blue, turquoise and orange on a white base and the edges are bound with blue bias.
