This vibrant apron was made in the 1940's and is unlike any I've seen before.
Made from 5 original 1940's ties which have been cut up and opened up to make this piece with the thin ends of the ties used to fashion the waistband and back ties.
The designs are beautiful with two featuring abstract prints, one with autumn leaves, another with a seascape including a lighthouse and the final one depicts a countryside hunting scene with dogs and a farm.
Measurements
It will fit up to a 30" waist, which will leave 15" length on either side to tie into a bow.
Length from top to one of the points 21.5"
Condition
Fair. Whoever made it has done it a little crudely and there is some messy sewing. There are some spots of the ties, possibly caused by colour transfer from the print, and there are three small holes and a scattering of pinholes.
Still a gorgeous piece which would be great for a display.
