This 1940's apron was originally designed to be worn over your normal clothes and protect them while you're doing chores. However, the vibrant print and crisp cotton fabric make it the perfect summer dress.
Note the armholes are quite low so you may, or may not, want to wear something under it.
A fabulously vibrant piece it has a white base with a bold floral design in yellow, blue, green and magenta.
It goes on over your head and then has a tie back belt to cinch in the waist, it has a patch pocket and it is bound around the armholes and neck edge with blue cotton binding.
Measurements
If you intend to wear this as a dress then it will fit up to a 44-40-48 - however, if you intend to wear it over your clothes then it will fit a little smaller so please compare the measurements below to a similar piece you already own;
Flat bust 23"
Flat waist 23"
Flat hip 25"
Edge to edge across the shoulders 17"
Shoulder to waist 17"
Shoulder to hem 46"
Condition
It is deadstock and has not been worn or washed and still has the fabric stiffener in the cotton - this does soften once washed. The only minor points to note are 7 pinhole rust marks scattered over the piece, but these are only seen when looking for them and are otherwise lost in the print.
