This fabulous jacket was made in the early 1940's.
Labelled 'The Gleeneagles REG. Coat Corri Corry & Co Ltd' it is faux fur in a light brown with a wonderful sheen. The base appears to be a coarse linen and the short tufts of brown 'fur' are quite broadly spaced out. It is an edge to edge design with firm shoulder pads and lined pockets. The jacket is fully lined with brown crepe.
A wonderful example of wartime fashion.
Measurements
The jacket is not meant to be close fitting and will best fit up to a 38" bust. However, to ensure that it will fit you properly please compare the measurements below to a similar piece you already own;
Flat bust 21" but it is much narrower in the back than the front so 38" really is max. bust
Shoulders between sleeves 14.5"
Underarm sleeve length 17"
Length 27.5"
Underarm to hem 17"
Condition
Very good with the following points to note;
- the right underarm has been re-sewn and the thread is a different colour to the original
- there are approx. 10 small pinhead holes in the lining, not seen when worn
- minor wear to the 'fur' on the front edges and pocket edges, but its minor
