This utterly charming piece was made in the 1930's.
Made from soft cotton, it has a warm chocolate brown base and a daisy print worked in cream and soft pink. The bodice features bands of horizontal tucks and the bodice front has a smart scalloped edge. There is a side placket, which fastens with two self covered buttons and the dress would originally have been belted.
Measurements
The dress is very petite and is too small for the mannequin it is shown on and so isn't looking its best. It will best fit up to a 32" bust but to ensure it will fit you properly, please compare the measurements below to a similar piece you already own;
Flat bust 16"
Flat waist 14" - but this is meant to be cinched smaller
Flat hips 18"
Shoulders between sleeves 13.5"
Underarm sleeve length 5"
Flat cuff 5.5"
Back neck to waist 16"
Back neck to hem 40" with 1" hem allowance to drop - dropping the hem may leave a mark
Circumference of skirt at hem 70"
Condition
Washed, pressed and ready to wear with the following points to note;
- there is the most minor amount of shoulder fade from hanger storage, but this really is minor
- slight buttonhole wear
- side placket buttons are a little worn
