This beautiful dress was made in the 1930's.
Made from textured black crepe it has a very close fitting bodice and long slim fitting sleeves with a close fitting skirt. No side opening, it fastens down the front with eleven glass buttons.
With soutache trimmed patch pocket detail on the front it has a very low neckline. Originally it would have been worn with some kind of modesty panel but it isn't really that low by today's standards so you may decide to wear a camisole underneath or pop in a small section of lace. Finished off neatly with a back tie belt which has a marcasite buckle.
It is so difficult to show the detail on black garments so some of the photos have been lightened but the dress is definitely true black and not grey black.
