This pretty piece was made in the 1940's or 1950's.
Made from medium weight cotton in a plaid print in green, red and pink on a blue base it was originally designed to be worn over your clothes to protect them from getting dirty while you were doing chores. However, it works perfectly as a day dress.
A button through design it has long sleeves with pleated sleeve heads, pockets and a belt with a button fastening.
