This utterly stunning dress was made in America in the 1940's and is labelled Edith Phillips Hollywood.
A fabulous colour block design it is made from crepe in navy blue and butter yellow. With a v-neck in the front and a rounded yoke it has an imitation 'sailor' collar in the back. Sections of the yellow have been painstakingly embroidered with flowers worked in silk thread. The bodice is smooth fitting, and features a covered button placket, and the skirt is smooth fitting in the back with a finely gathered section in the front.
