This piece was made in the 1950's.

Made from smooth silk it has a blue base with abstract floral print worked in black, white and grey. It has a close fitting bodice, which fastens with three covered buttons, slim fitting sleeves and a hip skimming, fully lined skirt. It fastens on the left side with a metal zip and would have originally been belted.

A classic shape of the era.

The dress will fit up to a 36-28-38 but to ensure that it will fit you properly, please compare the measurements below to a similar piece you already own;

There is no stretch in the fabric at all so you'll need to be smaller than these measurements.

 

Condition

Good with the following points to note;

  • there are two teeny holes in the front skirt, one 3mm across and the other less than 2 - because of the print they are only seen when you're really looking for them
  • there is a repair to the top of the vent in the back skirt, see photo
  • slight discolouration to some of the buttons, see photo
  • belt loops but no belt
