This great chore dress was made in the 1950's by Banner.
Made from crisp cotton it has a blue base with bold stylised floral worked in pink, blue, and mustard. A button through design it fastens with 9 blue buttons and still retains the original belt and also has triangle shaped patch pockets!
Although originally designed to be worn in the home, it is far too pretty to be confined to chores and would make a great summer dress.
Measurements
The dress will fit up to a 40-36-44 but to ensure that it will fit you properly, please compare the measurements below to a similar piece you already own;
Flat bust 21"
Flat waist 18.5"
Flat hip 23"
Shoulders between sleeves 15 1/2"
Shoulder to waist 17"
Length 46.5" with no hem allowance
Underarm sleeve length 4"
Flat cuff 7"
Circumference of skirt at hem 74"
Condition
Deadstock. The piece came to me with a collection of pieces which had been in storage for decades and this dress is crisp and the fabric still has the fabric stiffener in it, which does wash out. It has no structural issues to note, however, there was an issue with the dye when the fabric was printed and there is a pink smudge from the flowers on the right bodice - please see photos.
