This beautiful piece was made in the 1950's and is labelled 'Carnegie Model'.
Made from crisp medium weight cotton in a pale lilac, it has a close fitting bodice and a wonderfully full, heavily pleated skirt. The bodice is made up of bands of cotton and thinner bands of lace, and the skirt has lace trimmed pockets which are finished off perfectly with little bows.
It fastens down the back with a long metal zip and would look fabulous worn with a full petticoat.
Please note the dress is shown pinned in the photos as it is too big for the mannequin - the final two photos show what the dress looks like without pins.
