This stunning late 1940's dress, very much in the New Look style of 1947, is labelled 'A Leslie Fay Original'.
A button through design, featuring covered buttons, the dress is made from rust heavy textured grosgrain, which makes a delightful 'swish' sound as you move. It has broad shoulders with soft shoulder pads, three quarter length sleeves, pockets, a wonderfully full skirt and a cinched waist which is accentuated by the original belt.
Worn with a platter hat and full petticoat it would look amazing!
The colour is best shown in the final photograph with the closeup of the button.

Condition
Washed, pressed and ready to wear with the following points to note;
- there is a very, very faint mark on the left bodice, see photo
- the black backing of the belt has marked the dress during wear - the majority of the marking is covered when the belt is worn but some does show above and below, see photos - could easily be covered by a wider black belt but it really isn't that bad
