This pretty piece was made in the late 1930's or early 1940's.
Made from cold rayon it has a pink base with a floral design in blue, white, green and black. The bodice is seamed all over with double lines of stitching marking out squares.
The skirt is quite full and has a shirred band at the waist. It features puff sleeves, ruffle neckline and fastens with covered buttons down the back neck.
Would look great belted!
Measurements
The dress has no side opening, and due to the construction of the piece it won't be possible to fit one, so you'll need to be able to fit your bust through the waist measurement. It will best fit up to a 36-31-42 but to ensure that it will fit you properly, please compare the measurements below to a similar piece you already own;

Condition
Washed, pressed and ready to wear with the following points to note;
- there is a patch repair on the front of the left sleeve - see photo - it isn't seen from a distance due to the busy print but it is there
- slight discolouration to two of the covered buttons
- light discolouration around the neck opening
- a small mark on the front bodice - very faint - see photo
- a 1/2cm patch repair in the skirt but this was only spotted on the inside when pressing the dress
- some of the construction seams are a little wobbly
