A charming evening dress in pretty primrose yellow net.
Made in the 1950s by Lee Delman, it has a close fitting bodice with scalloped edge sleeves. Tafetta lining overlaid with net in a floral design. The skirt has three layers and it looks beautiful on. It has an inset back zip and is suitable for someone petite. It would originally have had a wide sash belt but that has long since gone. Would look great with a yellow and cream satin ribbon as a belt. A real fairy tale dress!
Measurements
This is for someone very petite. Because of the inset back zip, it is a bit of a wiggle to get into it. Best suited to a tight 34-23-38 but to be sure it will fit, please compare the measurements below to a similar piece you already own;
Flat bust 17"
Flat waist 12"
Hips free
Shoulders from outer edge of shoulder pads 15"
Shoulder to waist 17"
Shoulder to hem 54"
Condition
It is in very good condition with a couple of minor points to note;
- it has no belt
- there is a 12mm hole in the skirt near the hem, but this is lost within the folds
- there are some marks on the taffeta underskirt, these are not seen when worn as they are covered by two net layers
