This charming piece was made in the 1950's and is just perfect for a summer ball!
The bodice is close fitting and is purple with a hint of pink and gold in certain lights. It has a wide scalloped edged collar and the scallop design is carried through onto the sleeves and waist, where the bodice meets the net. The bodice fastens with a metal zip.
The skirt is made from purple artificial silk and has a layer of pink net topped with a layer of blue.
A gorgeous gown for an evening
Measurements
This piece is a petite fit in the bodice so needs to be on a shorter lady. It will best fit a 32-28-40 but to ensure that it will fit you properly, please compare the measurements below to a similar piece you already own;

Condition
Good with the following points to note;
- there is a 6mm darn in the right sleeve
- slight shoulder fade/discolouration across both shoulders
- there are three repairs in the skirt which are in a cluster about 6" up from the hem and the biggest is about 1.5" - it looks like someone got their heel caught in the piece
- there are a small number of little holes and a few teeny repairs in the net, as so often happens with this type of dress, but because the skirt is wonderfully full and is more than one colour they are not really that noticeable unless you are looking for them
