This pretty piece was made in the 1950's.
Made from soft cotton it has a pink base with off-white foliate detail in the weave. With a close fitting bodice, sweeping skirt and pockets it is just perfect for a dance. It fastens down the back with a metal zip which has been carefully sewn in by hand.

The dress will best fit a 36-26-38 but to ensure that it will fit you properly, please compare the measurements below to a similar piece you already own;
Flat bust 18" in the back with an additional 1" of fullness in the front
Flat waist 13.5"
Flat hip 20"
Shoulder to waist 15"
Shoulder to hem 5.5"
Circumference of hem at skirt 180"
Condition
Washed, pressed and ready to wear with the following points to note;
- very slightest discolouration on the hem in some places - the hem was filthy when I got the dress and much of the dirt has been successfully removed but this stubborn stuff remains
- there are a few small repairs - most were spotted when the dress was turned inside out for pressing because they are mostly lost within the embroidered design of the design on the right side but they are there if you look for them
- a few minor thread pulls
