This neat little hat was made in the 1950's.
A slightly unusual design it has a wired frame which is covered with pale green textured fabric which has a fine metal gold stripe. The hat is fully lined with black buckram and has a black grosgrain inner trim. The piece is finished off perfectly with a wired loop trim.
The perfect finishing touch to your vintage outfit.
Measurements
Because of the design of the piece it will fit a 22"/23" head but doesn't sit will on smaller as it is quite an open shape.
Side to side along the inner 11.5"
Front to back along the inner 8.5"
Condition
Good with the following points to note;
- the inner is a little scruffy in places
- it once had a brown net and there are some small net remains sandwiched between the outer and inner fabrics
- there are two pinhead holes in the piece which look to have been caused by a hat pin - the way I have the hat on the mannequin head means the holes are on the front but they'll obviously go on the back if you flip the hat the other way around - whichever way you wear it you'll need to use a hatpin to secure it
- on the inner, there is a small piece of wire visible which comes from the looped design on the top
