This is a weighty piece of reverse carved Lucite. Made in France in the 1950s, it is a lovely piece featuring a thick rectangle of Lucite carved with two pink roses and set in a metal frame. Unlike many of the Lucite brooches, this piece has a solid back with metallic paper backing so the roses sit against the shiny background. It fastens with a trombone clasp.
It is a heavy piece of jewellery and so not suited to a lightweight fabric and would definitely sit better on a jacket or coat.

Very good, some very minor surface scratches, which happens so often with these brooches. Slight tarnish on the frame.
