This sweet little piece was made in the 1930's or early 1940's.
Made from artificial silk it is a home sewn piece and was designed to be worn under a jacket to give the illusion of a full blouse - it was never meant to be worn without something covering it.
Featuring a spearpoint collar in the front, the back is collarless, it fastens with poppers and has dyed shell buttons for decoration only.
A true example of being thrifty with fabric.

The blouse will fit up to a 34" bust but to ensure that it will fit you properly, please compare the measurements below to a similar piece you already own;

Condition
The blouse has not been made to the highest standard but it does what is meant to do and the majority of the wobbly seams etc are hidden by whatever is worn over it. However, please also note;
- there is some thread movement on the back of the neck, not holes, just wear
- there is very light foxing throughout but it is only seen on close inspection
- a brown mark on the left bodice but it is covered by the collar
