These fabulous breeches were made for the Women's Land Army by Redman Bros and are dated 1943.
They were issued to a Land Girl who worked on a farm in the Felixstowe area. I was lucky enough to acquire a photograph of the original owner, two pairs of her Land Army breeches and her Land Army coat when her daughters were clearing the family home.
Unlike the more common corduroy, these breeches are made from khaki wool, much like the wool used for an officer's service dress.
They fasten on each side with three buttons, have pockets, belt loops for the leather uniform belt and fasten at the calf with metal tipped laces.
A great addition to a wartime uniform collection or perfect for a 1940's re-enactor.
Measurements
They are a size 6 which means they will fit a 27"-29" waist, 39"-41" hip and are for someone 5ft 7" to 5ft 9", so they are a good size. However, to ensure that they will fit you please compare the measurements below to a similar piece you already own and note all measurements have been taken on the outside of the breeches.

Condition
In good used condition but plenty of life left in them. Please note;
- there are two darns on the front seam
- two small darns in the right seat
- a few small scuffs to the upper surface of nap, less than 4mm across
- a couple of very light marks
- main issue is moth damage to the upper surface of the nap on the right leg end, where the laces are - however, if being worn as an outfit your socks will cover the damage
