This piece has been entirely hand knitted from a knitting pattern from 1940.
When the pattern was published during WW2 it was suggested that the knitter could 'Make this gay jumper out of odds and ends' and that the knit could be made '....as bright as the beach in summer time.' A true make do and mend pattern.
A close fitting design it is worked in broad bands in vibrant shades with a base of navy blue. The colours used are the same as those suggested in the original pattern.
Knitted in Cascade 220 fingering 4 ply pure wool, it is an authentic reproduction of an original 1940's knit.
