This beautiful bed jacket was made in the 1920's or 1930's.
Made from pure silk in the palest green, it is trimmed with very finely worked tambour lace and there is faggoting between the silk and the lace. There is fine shirring on the front shoulders which is replicated on the teeny patch pocket sitting on the right front. At the back of the neck there is a silk ribbon, printed with pink rose heads, which ties into a bow at the neck to stop the bed jacket from slipping off your shoulders.
The back of the piece is made from a single piece of silk with the back and sleeves all cut as one.
The colour is a very soft green and is truest in the photograph showing a closeup of the lace - the final photo.
Measurements
The piece it meant to be worn very loose, think cropped kimono in terms of fit. Shown on a 35" mannequin but could comfortably accommodate up to 40" bust but please bear in mind the shoulders are fairly narrow.

Condition
Good with some minor points to note;
- some very light foxing on the left bodice front
- a repair to the lace section surrounding the ribbon
- 9 spots on the right bodice
- some minor colour transfer in places from silk ribbon tie when the piece must have been folded
