This pretty nightdress was made in the 1940's.
Made from ice blue rayon it features a deep v-neck, edged with wide white lace. It has two bands of faggoting on the bodice and gathered but detail. Finished off perfectly with thin ribbon ties, which I believe are a later addition.
Measurements
The nightdress will best fit a 36-32-38 and there is no stretch in the fabric. To ensure it will fit you properly, please compare the measurements below to a similar piece you already own;
Flat bust 17" with extra fullness in the gathered bust at the front

Shoulders edge to edge 15"

Condition
Please note the following;
- it appears to have been slightly shortened at some point and the new hem is a bit roughly finished and the finish certainly isn't in keeping with the rest of the piece
- there are a number of small darns, most less than 1cm round, but there is a larger darn on the front left, just below the bust dart - see photos. Darts to note - 3 on the back, 2 on the front
- repairs to the fabric by the ties
