This beautiful robe is made from smooth white crepe and was made in the 1940's.
A classic piece of the time it features bands of ice blue smocking on the waist, sleeve ends and front yokes. With a central tie waist it is an edge to edge design and would likely have originally been part of a two part set, with a matching nightdress.

Flat waist when closed in the front 12" but you can gain a bigger waist by leaving it open a bit

Condition
Good with the following points to note;
- there are some small areas of repair to the smocking but this is only seen on close inspection
- there are some small dark marks on the back bodice, by the left sleeve - see photo
- a darn, 1cm in diameter, on the back near the waist
- a large darn on the sleeve near the shoulder
