Absolutely stunning pair of original tap pants from the 1920's or 1930's.
Made from beautiful quality silk, they have a wonderful shape with a small lift of the side hem on both sides and an elasticated waist. The hem is trimmed with long strands of glass beads. There are over 260 strands with approximately 50 beads on each so the pants have more than 13,000 beads hanging!
They are entirely hand sewn with the teeniest of stitches. Someone spent a lot of time making these.
Measurements
Waist will work on a 30"/34" - they need to be tight on your waist or the weight of the beading will make them slip down
Flat hip 23" - these are not meant to be tight fitting so best for a 40/42 max
Outer leg length 11.5" at the top of the side slash
Top of waist to hem down the middle seam 15"
Condition
Very good with some minor points to note;
- I have spotted one string of beads is missing
- there are a few small spots and marks - see photos
- on the back, there are a cluster of small pinholes. When these came to me, someone had done a bad job making a tuck in the back to lift the entire seat of the tap pants. The small holes were caused by the needle and thread
