Absolutely beautiful pair of original French knickers from the 1930's or 1940's.
Made from beautiful quality silk, they have the typical shape of the era with wide legs and side button closure.
They are entirely hand sewn with the teeniest of stitches. Someone spent a lot of time making these - even the buttonholes are hand sewn.
Measurements
Flat waist 15.5" so they'll work on a tight 31" max
Flat hip 23" - these are not meant to be tight fitting so best for a 40/42 max
Outer leg length 15.5"
Top of waist to hem down the middle seam 14.5"
Condition
Structurally beautiful with no issues to the fabric but there are some points to note;
- none of the buttons match - they are a close match but are not a set
- there is some marking on the gusset - see photo
- on the left back hip, there is a very faint mark
- there are a couple of small spots
I haven't washed or treated them for stains so the marks may come out in the wash.
