This sweet little blouse was made in the 1940's from artificial silk.
It has covered buttons, but they are for decoration only as it actually fastens with poppers. The dropped yokes have wonderfully vibrant smocking worked in silk threads in red, blue, yellow, pink, green and purple, and the same design is featured on the sleeves. With a cinched waist and neat embroidered collar, it is a lovely little piece.
Measurements
The blouse will fit up to a 36" bust but to ensure that it will fit you properly, please compare the measurements below to a similar piece you already own;
Flat bust 17.5" in the back and 18.5" in the front
Flat waist 17" but you could make the waist smaller if you carefully adjust the thread in the middle
Shoulders between sleeves 15"
Shoulder to waist 17"
Shoulder to hem 20"
Underarm sleeve length 3"
Flat cuff 5"
Condition
Good with the following points to note;
- very, very minor shoulder fade from being stored on a hanger
- two pinhead areas of wear, one on the right bodice and the other on the yoke
