This fabulous knit was made in the late 1940's.
Featuring a rib back, to help achieve a close fit, the front is a vibrant tartan in red, yellow and white. There are bands of hessian on each front shoulder to help the piece keep it's shape. Finished off perfectly with three original 1940's buttons it is a gorgeous example of an original knit.
Measurements
This waistcoat is too small for the mannequin because it is riding up and not sitting right. It will fit up to a 32"/34" bust on narrow shoulders but to ensure that it will work for you, please compare the measurements below to a similar piece you already own;
Flat bust 16" stretching to 17"
Flat waist 13"
Shoulders from edge to edge 12"
Neck to hem on back 20"
Underarm to hem on side 12"
Condition
Good but there are a number of small darns, which is so often the case with original knitwear. Very few are visible to the eye, and those that are are only seen when you're really looking for them. Most are felt in the fabric when you run your hands over the piece.
