This pretty smock was made in the 1940's by Hawkins of Preston.
A classic smock of the era, it is made from medium weight cotton and has a busy floral print in red, blue, yellow and green. Featuring long sleeves, with button cuffs, it has a patch pocket and neat collar.
Originally designed to be worn over clothes to keep them clean while you're doing chores, it is such a pretty piece it would make a great blouse.
