This incredible dress was made in the 1930's.
The main body of the piece is made from chenille in a rich berry shade. The chenille section of the dress features a beautifully seamed skirt, slim fitting sleeves and a pointed bodice. The yoke is made from lace in a floral design and the sleeve ends, which are elasticated at the wrist, are made of the same lace and finished off neatly with teeny velvet bows.
There is no side opening on this dress. The only opening is down the back neck, which fastens with poppers - the velvet buttons are for decoration only. The seamed belt, with offset bow, is the perfect finishing touch.
Measurements
This piece has no side opening so you'll need to be able to fit your bust through the waist measurement. It will fit up to a 35" bust maximum. To ensure this piece will fit you properly, please compare the measurements below to a similar piece you already own;

Condition
Very good. The main body of the piece shows little wear. The only points to note are;
- there are some small, historic, repairs to the lace but these have been done well and are only seen on close inspection
- there are marks on the back of the belt where poppers have been moved around at some point
- two of the decorative buttons have been repaired
- someone has added a lace modesty panel as the yoke comes down quite low - it does the job but could be neater on the inside
