This gorgeous dress was made in the 1940's.
Made from artificial silk in green and white the fabric has been cleverly used to give a chevron design to the dress.
A smooth fitting bodice with a neat turned back collar meets a finely gathered skirt and the dress has a side zip.
Perfect for the summer!
Measurements
This piece will best fit up to a 38-28-42 but to ensure it will fit you properly, please compare the measurements below to a similar piece you already own;
Flat bust 20"
Flat waist 14.5"
Flat hip 21"
Shoulder to waist 18"
Length 48.5" - although it has been let down to the max so could easily be made shorter
Underarm to waist 7.5"
Condition
Good with some points to note;
- when held up to the light there are two rows of stitch holes around the hem - clearly left from when the hem has been altered
- a 1cm mend in the front skirt
- main issue is three bands of discolouration about 6" long by 2" wide - there are two in the front skirt and one in the back - a lot of the marks are lost in the folds - as can be seen in the full length photo - but they are a blue tone so I guess it has been faded
- minor underarm discolouration
Has been washed, pressed and is ready to wear.
