This classic piece was made in the late 1930's.
Made from chocolate brown crepe, on close inspection the fabric has a black fleck to it. The dress features long sleeves with covered button cuffs, a cross-over bodice decorated with soutache and embroidery and a beautifully seamed skirt. It fastens down the left side with a metal zip and would have originally had a belt which is, sadly, missing.
A great wardrobe staple for any vintage lover.

This piece will fit up to a 36-32-40 but to ensure that it will fit you properly, please compare the measurements below to a similar piece you already own;
Flat bust 18" in the back and 20" in the front where there is some fullness in the folds
Flat waist 17"

Shoulders between sleeves 15.5"

Condition
Good with some points to note;
- there is an 8mm darn in the front waist but this will be covered if you choose to wear a belt
- when held up to the light there are 6 small scuffs/areas of wear - they aren't seen from the front and if darned they will be more visible than if they are left alone
- slight discolouration in places - if really is minor and only seen in certain lights
- some slight wear to some soutache
Has been washed, pressed and is ready to wear.
