This fabulous coat was made in America in the 1940's and carries the remains of the Union Label in the lining seam.
Made from thick wool it has a burgundy coloured base with forest green and old gold plaid. It features a covered button placket, has pockets and there is a concealed button under the collar so the neckline can be worn closed, or the top button left undone to give you two different looks. The piece is lined with heavy forest green satin and on the inner edge of both sides there are concealed cape straps meaning the coat could be worn on the shoulders and arms popped through the straps to stop it falling off.
A truly fabulous coat in great colours!

Condition
Very good with the following points to note;
- evidence on the inner where the label has been cut out
- the concealed button is different from the others but isn't seen as is covered by the collar
- a few minor grazes in places, I tracked down 4, but they are felt more than seen
