This fabulous day dress was made in the 1940's.
Made from heavy weight linen in green and white it has so many fabulous style details with gathered bust detail, smart collar, back inserts, neat cuffs and belt with pretty buckle.
The bodice is meant to be worn blouson, as was the style of the era, and the skirt is slim fitting and made up of five panels.
A truly iconic dress of the era.
Measurements
The bodice isn't meant to be super close fitting and the front is gathered to give fullness. It will best fit up to a 40-34-42 but to ensure that it will fit you properly, please compare the measurements below to a similar piece you already own;
Flat bust 22"
Flat waist 18"
Flat hip 22"
Shoulders between sleeves 15"
Back neck to waist 15"
Back neck to hem 42"
Underarm sleeve length 6.5"
Flat cuff 5.5"
Condition
Very good with the following minor points to note;
- there is a pull on the top of the right sleeve - see photo
- the belt doesn't have any holes for the prong of the buckle and so the prong just gets pushed through the belt which means you can see where this has happened before
- a couple of minor plucks
Washed, pressed and ready to wear.
