This smart suit was made in America in the 1940's and is labelled 'Styled by Swansdown'.
Made from medium weight wool it has a teeny check in black and blue. To see the true colour of the blue take a look at the close up photo of the open skirt.
A very fitted piece the jacket fastens with five buttons and has a high collar with buttons on the collar tabs to keep them in place and to maintain the high collar line. The jacket is fully lined and has a very fitted waist and slim fitting sleeves. The pencil skirt fastens on the left with a single button and metal zip and is unlined.
A very high style piece of the time.

Condition
Good with the following points to note;
- the jacket is in very good condition with just some minor wear
- there are two stick on tape repairs on the skirt which can be seen when you turn it inside out
- there are approximately eight small darns in the skirt
- a few single thread pulls on the skirt
- the suit smells a little musty - it was dry cleaned in 2013 but has been in storage ever since but an airing will sort the smell - it does NOT smell of moth balls
