A classic navy and white polka dot dress from the 1940s. Made from a beautiful French navy crepe with off-white polka dots, it has wonderful shaping with a sweetheart neckline, waist insert, scalloped yoke edge, long sleeves and a smart panelled skirt. The bodice is meant to be worn quite loose and it has a tie back belt to cinch in the waist. There is no side opening meaning you'll have to wiggle your bust through the waist gap.
Measurements
Best suited for up to a 34/36-28-36. The bodice isn't meant to be close fitting and to ensure it will fit you properly please compare the measurements below to a similar item you already own;

Flat hip 20"
Shoulders between sleeves 14"

Condition
This piece is in good condition but there are some points to note - if you are looking for perfection then this piece isn't going to be for you.
- the trim on the neck is not original to the dress and has been added at some point - this wasn't uncommon - but is easily removed
- there are three brown marks on the front of the dress. They are faint but they are approximately 2" by 3" each. I have carefully hand washed the dress and the marks didn't come out
- there are some nibbles by the neckline - see photo
- main issue is the back neck. I'm not sure what has happened but there has been some damage to the neck which someone has tried to fix with a popper. It still presents really well and would be covered if worn with a cardi of jacket
