This beautiful coat was made in the 1940s.
Labelled "Cotsmoor Coat of Llamapile", it is a wonderfully soft coat made from faux fur in charcoal grey. It has two large covered buttons, a wide collar, deep cuffs and is fully lined. It can be worn with the collar stood up when both buttons are fastened but also looks great with just the centre buttons fastened and the lapels showing.
Measurements
Will fit up to a 42" bust but will also work on smaller, as it isn't a close fitting piece. To ensure that it will fit you properly, please compare the following measurements to a similar coat you already own.
Measured on the outside;
Flat bust 23”
Flat waist 24”
Shoulders between sleeves 15”
Undertaken sleeve length 16"
Neck to hem 45"
Condition
Very good with some minor points to note;
- there is some minor foxing on the lining
- there is a little bit of Make Do and Mend going on inside this coat. There is an inside belt, on the inner right seam, which stops the coat gaping when worn. The belt loop for this has been replaced and the previous owner used a curtain hook!
- there are a few small holes in the lining
- on close inspection there are a few small areas where the pile is missing. They are about 3mm across and are only noticed on close inspection
The issues have all been reflected in the price.
