This wonderful Edwardian era combination set features a chemise with matching petticoat made from crisp white cotton.
The chemise features front button closure with pretty mother or pearl buttons and a little tie fastener at the hem. The petticoat is smooth fitting in the front with a little extra fullness in the back, obtained by having pleats, and fastens with two cream plastic buttons - please note it has been photographed the wrong way round on the mannequin and the buttons actually go at the back but I didn't notice I'd made the error until listing!
Both pieces feature beautiful embroidery in pastel coloured silks.
A stunning set which will be a fabulous edition to an Edwardian lover's wardrobe!
Measurements
The petticoat has a flat waist of 15 1/4", the hips are free and it measures 27" from top to bottom with a 58" circumference at the hem
The chemise has a 19" flat bust and 17" flat waist, although it is not meant to be close fitting. The underarm to hem is 11.5" and the top of the strap to hem is 17.5"
Condition
Very good with just a few small points to note;
- a very small repair on the petticoat at the back opening
- minor wear to the embroidery in parts
- a few very minor light marks - please note it has been soaked in Retro Clean and the marks didn't come out so they are likely there to stay
Washed, pressed and ready to wear.
