The swallow was a popular symbol used in Victorian jewellery. The swallow was a symbol of everlasting love and faithfulness as swallows are known to mate for life and always return home. They were often gifted as romantic tokens by lovers during long periods of separation.
This stunning piece is made from fully hallmarked silver and carries the maker's mark JW, the anchor, lion and letter C which dates this piece to the end of the Victorian era in 1898.
A beautifully crafted piece, it features a pair of swallows in flight and each swallow is set with 7 clear paste stones.
The perfect gift to give to a loved one.
