This is a beautiful suit in a rich shade of wine in a wonderfully soft needle cord.
Made in the 1950's and labelled Horrockses, this piece has the classic nipped in waist of the era. The jacket is close fitting at the waist and is very neatly tailored. The skirt is full and fastens on the left side with hooks and a metal zip.
Both pieces are unlined.

Good with points to note;
- there is some slight wear/discolouration on the elbow section of the back
- there are marks to show the buttons have been moved at some point, but these aren't seen when the jacket is done up
- there are 5 small darns in the skirt
- the hem has been dropped at some point and there is a faint mark to show this has been done - taking the hem back up would cover the issue
- the waistband appears to have been altered at some point but has been done well
