This utterly beautiful blouse is a timeless wardrobe staple.
Made in Stockholm in the 1930's by Robell it is made from beautifully soft natural silk.
The yoke features pintucks and faggoting and the blouse opens down the front, fastening with large buttons. A neat collar and puff sleeves, this would originally have been worn belted as there are fine belt loops.
Measurements
This is labelled for a 38" bust but I think it works better on a 36" as you don't want to pull on the silk and it looks better slightly blouson. Please compare the measurements below to a similar piece you already own to make sure this will fit you properly.
Flat bust 18" across the back and 20" in the front
Flat waist 15.5"
Shoulders between sleeves 14.5"
Length 20"
Cuff opening 11"
Underarm sleeve length 4.5"
Underarm to waist 12"
Condition
Very good with some minor points to note;
- the most minor underarm discolouration which can only be seen in some lights
- someone has let the sleeves out a little and there are some stitch marks remaining
- very light seam stress in the two front darts
- belt loops but no belt
- there are some slight marks on the front - see close up photo
The blouse has been treated with stain remover and the stains didn't lift so are likely there for good, but the blouse is still stunning and they are faint.
Has been washed, pressed and is ready to wear.
