This charming blouse was made in the 1920's or 1930’s from semi sheer muslin in off-white. It is entirely hand sewn and would have taken a considerable amount of time to create.
The back and fronts are made of a single piece of fabric so there is no shoulder seam.
So beautifully crafted, it features panels of hand-worked lace, faggoting and stunning geometric embroidery in apricot coloured silk thread.
With its neat collar, long sleeves, which fasten with teeny poppers, and poppers down the front, it is a truly fine example of its time.

Condition
Very good with some points to note;
- there are a few small pulls and minor stresses but nothing major
- on the back of the piece, the faggoting that runs near the shoulders, just under the collar, has been repaired with a much brighter white thread for 3/4" on each side
- there are a few minor faint marks which only show in some lights
