These are an absolutely beautiful pair of wide fitting shoes in a hard to find size.
Made in the 1940s by CWS Wheatsheaf - Chester the style is "So Pliable Supple & Pliable".
They are made from inky black leather and have textured leather trim around the laces, a low heel, making them comfortable for everyday wear, and a lovely shaped front - a classic shoe of the time.
These are deadstock and have the CC41 mark impressed into each sole.
Measurements
They are labelled as a UK 6.5 and are a lovely wide fitting shoe.
Length 10 1/4" - please note this is right into the toe of the shoe and as your toe won't go that far, you'll need to have a slightly smaller foot than this length
Widest point on the sole 3 1/2"
Heel 1 3/4"
Vamp 6"
Condition
Beautiful. They are deadstock and have never been worn but there are some minor points to note;
- some very minor marks on the soles from storage
- there is some glue residue around the opening near the laces
- each heel has a small mark
- slight creasing to the leather, but when the shoes are worn the creases aren't seen
