This bright thick cotton dress was made in the 1940's and carries an incredibly faded CC41 label in the skirt side seam - faded even more by me when I washed it - TWICE! I should have photographed it before it went in the machine but you can still just make it out.
Originally designed to be worn over your clothes to protect them while doing chores in the house, the quality of the piece and design features make this a perfect day dress and it is far too nice to confine it to the house.
Gathered sleeve heads with little shoulder pads to help keep the shape, pretty green buttons, pockets, long button edge sleeves and a neat collar - it is a classic piece.

Condition
Good with some minor points to note;
- belt loops but no belt
- there is wear/small holes under three of the buttons - not seen when worn
- slight wear on the cuff edges
