A charming, and iconic, cotton floral house dress from the 1940s.
This piece was originally designed to be worn over a dress to protect the clothes when housework was being done. However, it makes a perfect day dress and is far too good to only be worn in the home.
Made from floppy cotton in a bold floral print, it is button through and has its original belt. A fitted bodice and a panelled skirt, it has a smart collar and a practical patch pocket on the right skirt.
Please note the colour is truest in the close up of the fabric.
Best suited for up to a 40-34-42 but to ensure it will fit you, please compare the measurements below to a similar item you already own;
Flat bust 21"
Flat waist 18"
Flat hip 21"
Shoulders between sleeves 13"
Shoulder to waist 15"
Shoulder to hem 42"
Underarm sleeve length 5"
Flat cuff 6.5"
Very good with a few minor points to note;
- some of the inner seams are a little tufty
- 10mm patch beside the buttonhole 2nd up from the bottom
- 5mm darn just above the 3rd button
- small patch on the back skirt about 8" up from the hem
- small darn on the inner belt
Because of the print, the darns are mostly lost within the print.
