This beautifully tailored coat was made in the late 1940's or early 1950's.
Made from quality cream wool, which is 65% beaver and 35% virgin wool, it is a wonderful piece which has been hand tailored with exceptional finishing details, including stitch detailing on the curved back yoke. It is fully lined with heavy satin, has a neat collar, has pockets and fastens at the neck with a single button.
A gorgeous coat for the colder months.
Measurements
The coat is not meant to be close fitting and will fit up to a 46" bust. Please compare the measurements below to a similar style piece you already own and please note all measurements have been taken on the outside of the piece;
Flat bust 25"
Flat waist 27"
Flat hip 30"
Shoulders 15"
Underarm sleeve length 16"
Length 40"
Circumference of hem 84"
Condition
Structurally very good, no wear to the fabric or damage. However, there are some minor points to note;
- slight scuffs on the lining
- a slightly untidy seam at the back neck on the lining
- main issue is marks down the front - the marks, I assume, are food or drink and are fainter than the photos show. I have lightened the photos so you can see the marks clearly but they are lighter, as can be seen from the first photo. They may lift with a dry clean but I haven't attempted to clean it at all.
